The Abbey of Kaisheim

The formerly Cistercian Abbey of Kaisheim is the „parent abbey“ of Stams.

Kaisheim was founded in 1134 and throughout the centuries managed to increase and, even in hard times, keep its wealth.

The current Basilica, a popular tourist attraction, was built in the 14th century.

The church and opulent emperor’s hall are around 300 years old and can be visited as well.
